Just found out that Ernest Borgnine died yesturday :(  I know most people here have probably never heard of him but chances are you’ve seen something that he was in.  He is one of those few enduring actors who really are a tragic loss to the profession :(  RIP Ernest, your films will live on forever.

Yes, that is exactly what we are talking about here; only that Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Lightman are fictional characters, whereas their techniques are very real and, let’s face it, very cool. I don’t know about the book yet as I haven’t read it but, credit where credit’s due, the memory technique referred to in Sherlock as his ‘mind palace’ has been available for a VERY long time in Kevin Trudeau’s “mega memory” course.  I taught my youngest child the techniques when he was little although my oldest was old enough to be bored by the exercises involved & didn’t want to learn it.  But my son uses it automatically & as far as he is aware always has.  It takes a bit of effort to learn & you have to be good at visualisation but otherwise it’s pretty straightforward and it does work.

What is with the internet today?  It’s like a tortise on dope.  I hope it’s not that bloody virus they were talking about.  Anyone else having the same trouble?
